IU Issues New Mask Mandate After Promising a Return to Normalcy, Betraying Students

Two weeks to flatten the curve has now evolved into a year of unprecedented government overreach. Public schools and universities, agents of the government, have been all too willing to demonstrate their true tyrannical and socialist tendencies while claiming they are simply “following the science.” Now, the new “Delta Variant” is sparking further outrage and hysteria, allowing these companies and schools to issue new mask mandates.

However, if universities like IU would “follow the science” and examine the statistics, they would know that since January 1, the United States has had a less than two percent case fatality rate of COVID-19, which is three times less than at the peak of the pandemic back in May of last year. Additionally, the actual efficacy of masks has been debated since the start of the pandemic. For example, a study by the New England Journal of Medicine states, “We know that wearing a mask outside health care facilities offers little, if any, protection from infection.”

Another pertinent question, and probably the biggest one yet, is why Indiana University is forcing vaccinated people to wear masks. IU spent the summer campaigning to get students vaccinated. The university was literally forcing students to either get the vaccine or to not attend IU. Originally, the university further incentivized students to get vaccinated by promoting it as a pathway to normalcy and telling students that if they were to get vaccinated, then they would no longer have to wear a mask. If Indiana University truly cared about their students, they would give them the freedom of choice, but instead they choose to tyrannically force students to get vaccinated and wear a mask at all times.

One would think that adults should have power over what goes into their body as well as the maintenance of their health. Nonetheless, when it comes to masks and non FDA approved vaccines, IU and other governmental entities will shove them down your throat without the slightest hesitation.
